How Do I Register?
You can pre-register on-line by clicking HERE. You can register in person at any Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series race or you may register on-site the day of (for an additional $10 fee) prior to the event (9:00AM-10:15AM) at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain. Where Are the Races? The race takes place on Beaver Creek Mountain at Strawberry Park lift. Direction to Beaver Creek Resort. Take I-70 to the Avon exit and head to Beaver Creek Resort. Parking is FREE at the Bear Lot. Remember to give yourself enough time (at least 45 minutes) to park and take the bus to the base of Beaver Creek Mountain, providing you have pre-registered. Activities will start promptly at 11AM and continue as follows: 10K Event.........................................Starts at 11AM
5K Even............................................Starts at 11:15AM
One-Mile Fun Run..............................Starts at 11:30AM back to top Are There Separate Classes? Which Class Should I Participate in? Competitive runners should enter the 10K division. Keep in mind that 10K (6.2 miles) on snowshoes is much more challenging than 10K on pavement. The 5K (3.1 miles) division offers participants the option to walk or run in a much more casual, non-competitive environment. The One-Mile Fun Run is just that, “FUN”. back to top Who Wins Prizes? What Kind of Prizes are There? The top male & female finishers in the 10K divisions win cash. (1st $250, 2nd $150 and 3rd $100) Finally, everyone is eligible to win in the post-race raffle, with prizes from many of our series sponsors. back to top How Much are Entry Fees? 1 Mile Fun Run........................................$15 There is a $10 dollar Late Fee for anyone registering on March 2nd.. May I Preview the Courses? When are they Marked?
The courses are partially marked the Thursday prior to the event. Maps are available on this site. You can snowshoe on the trails at any time. back to top I’ve never snowshoed before, is this race for me? Absolutely, courses are designed with participants of all ages and abilities in mind. The 10K loop is much more challenging than the 5K. The event is meant to have a broad appeal, and you many discover a true love for the sport at this event. back to top Where’s the best place for my family and friends to watch? The start/finish areas of all the races typically provide the best viewing experience. back to top Who does the Snowshoe Shuffle event benefit? The 14th Annual Snowshoe Shuffle, will again raise funds for cancer prevention, education and early detection programs. 100% of the Shuffle net proceeds are invested in the aforementioned programs, as directed by the Community Cancer Coalition, operating under the auspices of Vail Valley Medical Center Foundation – a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization under IRS regulations. The Community Cancer Coalition consists of a group of dedicated individuals specifically committed to fundraising through special events and programs, benefiting cancer awareness in the Colorado mountain communities of Eagle, Summit and Lake Counties. All proceeds from the Community Cancer Coalition sponsored events and programs are directed toward medical initiatives for the purpose of patient services, education, and particular projects, as recommended by the Community Cancer Coaltion and approved by Vail Valley Medical Center Foundation. back to top What does my entry fee get me? Aside from a great snowshoeing experience, your entry fee gets you free beverages and food following the race at the post-race party and entry into the valuable post-race raffle.
