Vail Valley Cancer Support Groups

At the Shaw Regional Cancer Center, cancer patients are never alone on their journey to surviving cancer.  Sometimes, all a patient needs is someone to talk to, someone who’s been there and back, or someone who is going to travel the road with them.

The Shaw Cancer Center sponsors a number of support groups to help cancer patients.  Cancer counselor Vanessa Lewis is ready to provide more information on any of the groups listed below, please contact her at 970-569-7606 or e-mail her at lewis@vvmc.com

• Cancer Support Group meets every Tuesday at noon.  All patients, family, and friends are welcome and a complimentary lunch is served.
• Prostate Support Group meets the second Monday of each month. This group features speakers on prostate-related topics.  Please call for a schedule.
• Glenwood Cancer Support Group meets the second Thursday of each month, January through November.
• Summit Cancer Support Group meets the fourth Wednesday of each month.  This group features speakers on health-related topics.
• Card making workshops and other groups are offered throughout the year.  Please contact Vanessa Lewis for more information.
