Sonnenalp Breast Imaging Center

The Sonnenalp Breast Center, established in 2002, provides the best technology for breast imaging and diagnosis of breast cancer. Our Colorado Breast Imaging Center specializes in breast cancer research and treatment.  The development of the Sonnenalp Center has brought the most advanced diagnostic procedures available to the Vail Valley, including:

• Digital Mammography, the latest technological advancement in breast imaging.
• Ultrasound Guided breast and Stereotactic biopsy on site, as well as needle localizations.

The Sonnenalp radiologists are specialists in breast cancer diagnosis, and are available in person at our center once a week.  With the advancement of digital technology, these professional radiologists are available to read mammograms on a daily basis, even remotely if necessary. Digital technology also allows staff members to transfer images directly to Denver, so that they can be read as soon as your mammography is completed at our center.

In addition to a radiology staff that specializes in advanced technology in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, Shaw Regional Cancer Center also offers support for patients and their families.  Our breast cancer support group helps support cancer patients throughout treatment and recovery.
