- Dress in Blue Day – Dress in blue to increase awareness of colorectal cancer and encourage colon screening, the first Friday in March, which is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
- Romp to Stomp out Breast Cancer – This 5k snowshoe run/walk event benefits Komen Denver and is held each March in Summit County.
- National Healthcare Decisions Day – April 16, 2011 – This is an opportunity to receive information about advance care options such as FiveWishes, living wills and medical durable power of attorney.
- Cancer Screening Day – Shaw Regional Cancer Center offers several low cost screenings in one day at one location, twice per year in the spring and fall, May and October.
- SunGuard your Skin – This sun safety educational program for preschool to 1st grade students is offered each May in local schools for Skin Cancer Detection & Prevention Month.
- Exercise Medicine Month – May is a month for everyone to recognize, emphasize and celebrate how important exercise and physical activity are to health and the prevention and treatment of many chronic diseases; health care providers are encouraged to make physical activity and exercise a standard part of their patients’ disease prevention and treatment plans.
- Race for the Cure – This 5k run/walk event is held each July in Aspen and benefits Komen Aspen, which in turn provides assistance for women in Eagle County. This is a family friendly and pet friendly event.
- Tough Enough to Wear Pink – This event brings the sport of professional rodeo and the western community together to rally against breast cancer, the last Friday of the Eagle County Fair and Rodeo in July.
- Sonnenalp Scramble Against Cancer – golf tournament that benefits the Sonnenalp Breast Imaging Center, held each July at the beautiful Sonnenalp Golf Course in Edwards
- Ride for the Cure – Held each August in the Aspen/Snowmass area, this bicycling event takes place along a beautiful route and benefits Komen Aspen.
- Senior Health Fair – In collaboration with Eagle County Senior Services, the Senior Health Fair provides wellness education and limited wellness screening services for community seniors each fall.
- Get Pretty in Pink – During October, salons throughout the valley join together for breast health
- Hike, Wine and Dine – Enjoy gourmet tastings from several of Beaver Creek’s restaurants on an easy four mile hike. Proceeds benefit Jack’s Place, a Cancer Caring House and local cancer care.
