Jack's Place, A Cancer Caring House
Patients traveling to Shaw for cancer treatment are invited to stay with their family and/or caregiver at Jack's Place, A Cancer Caring House. Named after Dr. Jack Eck, a longtime and beloved Vail-area doctor, and supported by the Shaw Outreach Team, Jack's Place offers a haven of tranquility and well-being for patients who need day and night lodging during cancer treatment.
With a pay-what-you-can philosophy, guests are invited to take respite at Jack's for the day or overnight, for as long as they need.
Jack’s Place is a 10,825-square-foot lodge, located immediately adjacent to Shaw Regional Cancer Center.
Jack’s Place offers 12 beautiful and comfortable private guest rooms. Each guest room is equipped for two guests – a patient and a caregiver. Patients are responsible for general housekeeping, laundry and meals. Jack’s Place does not provide medical care or treatment. Rooms include:
• a private bath
• one queen bed
• pull out sofa bed
• closet space
• individual heating and cooling units
• personal refrigerator (for medication)
• cable television and Blu-Ray player
• wireless Internet Access
• local telephone
• CD player
Jack’s Place has many thoughtful amenities in its common areas including:
